Born in China, Zoë S. Roy, an avid reader even during the Cultural Revolution, writes literary fiction with a focus on women’s cross-cultural experiences. Her Publications include Butterfly Tears (2009), a collection of short fiction, and two novels, The Long March Home (2011), Calls Across the Pacific (2015), and ‘Spinster Kang’, published by Inanna Publications.
An avid reader from her childhood, she has been a literature lover. Born in Maoist China, she grew up in the Cultural Revolution. She writes because she has many heartache stories that need to be told.
She holds an M.A. in Atlantic Canada Studies and an M.Ed. in Adult Education. She lives in Toronto and taught for the Toronto District School Board for years.
