Stephen Phillip Monteiro is an expert in law enforcement, security, forensics, intelligence and bioterrorism. He spent over 20 years as a Special Agent with the U.S. Secret Service.
Steve was a member of the elite Presential Protective Division at the White House and later served as the Special Agent in Charge and director of the Forensic Crime Laboratory. He also served as a Congressional Fellow in the 104th Congress focusing on Appropriations.
After his federal career, he served in a number of leadership positions in the private sector. He was a Senior Associate with Booz Allen Hamilton and a Senior Vice President with PotomacWave Consulting. Later, he became a Senior Advisor to the Director of Weapons of Mass Destruction Intelligence for the DHS focusing on bioterrorism where he received the Director of National Intelligence Meritorious Unit Citation for his work on Iraqi scientists.
Steve is a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he was trained in cryptology, a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, ASIS and the Association of Former Agents of the Secret Service. He holds a BS in Public Administration from Franklin Pierce University and an MS in Management from The Johns Hopkins University. He has appeared on episodes of Forensic Files, the National Geographic channel, America's Book of Secrets on the History channel and local television newscasts.
Steve and his wife Carmela live in Annapolis and enjoy spoiling their rescue dog “Beans” and thoroughly enjoy spending time with their four beautiful grandchildren.
