About Me:
I'm a bit of a restless spirit. My various careers have included cartoonist, magician, scientist, teacher, computer programmer, visual effects consultant, animator, composer, stand-up comedian and small-engine repair lackey. I worked for several years in Hollywood's special effects infrastructure — back when computer animation was still a fresh and exciting way to make a living — but it was a Camelot that couldn't last.

Emboldened by that heady experience, I then veered into the fast lane bound for high-tech fame and fortune, only to slam into a bridge abutment, leaving several startup software companies scattered about me in the ditch. Now penniless and frightened, I've retreated to Saskatoon — the city “least likely to succumb to invasion, natural disaster or the inevitable collapse of Western Civilization” — to raise my family, suffocate my education with a PhD, and pursue my boyhood dream of becoming a destitute and unknown author.

So far, that plan has hit no obstacles.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is a fabulous example of the genre, giving a stylish take on the content, without giving anything away by attempting an actual dramatization.

none - I had to give up television in order to create time for writing

The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind (obviously it would work better as a documentary)

There's a rumor going around, and like most rumors, it has basis in truth, but as stated, is entirely wrong. What's the rumor? "Book trailers are just movie trailers, but for books." Sure, there are lots of similarities, but that's a bit like saying that a house cat is a kind of lion. While true technically, it focuses attention on the wrong elements, leading the listener to essentially un-true assumptions and interpretations.

See, there's one huge and very important difference…
